Post Martin Brodeur's records - unbreakable?
An interesting conversation has been brewing and many have been asking if Marty's records, for example the shutout record, will ever be broken.

From my perspective, the shutout record will be unbreakable. Here's my logic:

The Devils have been one of the most consistently good competitive teams for an extended period of time.
During this time frame, the Devils have had one primary goalie: Martin Brodeur.
No other team has been this good for this long with only a single goalie as their main goaltender.

A lot of factors have contributed to this - for example the fact that loyalty with the new CBA is not something you see very often.

Brodeur is part of that old style thought process in which he plays for the team, not for the money. Granted the money has come to him thanks to the level at which he plays. Nevertheless, he had the opportunities to leave the Devils and join other clubs for more money and he opted to stay with the Devils.

Yet one more fact that make him the best goalie in the NHL today!
